BUFFALO MILKE© (pronounced “milk”) -- TRAILBLAZERS IN PREMIUM-FAST-EASY
SO SAY THE LEGENDS!
The Vision for Premium, But Instant and Easy, Car Wax
Nearly 3 decades ago, Phil Mumler had a vision while laboriously paste waxing his 97 point Jaguar for an East Coast Concourse d’ Elegance competition -- that there must be a way to apply the same wax protection without the labor, without the detailing for white residue, and without the enormous investment of time. He visualized an instant spray wax -- one that would cover minor spider web scratches and enhance the intensity of the colors, while making a black paint effortless to maintain. What? There is no such thing?!
Finally the manufacturing technologies caught up with Phil’s dream, and his premium-fast-easy Buffalo Milke Instant Spray Wax® was born ! This was the original spray wax that was conceptually knocked off by established wax companies as detailers, quick fixes, 24 hour lasting spritzes, etc.
The Love Letters for a Wax!
However, the unique, premium and long term wax protection of Buffalo Milke Instant Spray Wax® with “no headaches” has thrilled consumers, with word of mouth spreading like wildfire, bypassing the competition’s anticompetitive distribution blocks, and inspiring the writing of love letters about the wax to now President Phil Mumler of Buffalo Milke Automotive Polishing Products, Inc. in Pleasanton, California.
Phil marvels “It is so thrilling to have our customers rave about us and call us to tell us how our Buffalo Milke Instant Spray Wax® is so exceptional in performance. But to have very busy people with very hectic lives taking the time to write not just e-mails but “real paper” letters of praise about our wax is absolutely incredible! We are clearly doing our job right, at the highest level!”
The only complaint that Buffalo Milke Instant Spray Wax® ever got was that it was too easy and fast to apply! The customer at the Los Angeles Roadster Show during Father’s Day Weekend ran across the parking lot, having spotted the Buffalo Milke® display, and yelled “Buffalo Milke, I love you! But I have one complaint!” Phil said “Complaint? I’ve never gotten a complaint on our wax!” The customer responded “Well, waxing my black cars used to be a 4 beer event. But, now with me using Buffalo Milke, I’m done waxing my cars before I have even finished my first beer!”
The Products are Developed Right,… the First Time!
“We take NO SHORTCUTS in product development. If a product takes years to formulate, like Buffalo Milke Instant Spray Wax® did, then it is worth the investment of time in order to serve our customers with the best that science and creativity can provide,” states Phil as he underscores his company’s rare philosophy.
“We get our formulas right, the first time! Our distributors and retailers never get stuck with old generations of products and lose money” as Phil is proud to note about his team’s commitment to excellence and fair dealing.
Clear and Simple Solutions™
Our consumer especially appreciates that Buffalo Milke Automotive has made applications easy, with superb results.
That is why the Buffalo Milke Automotive’s line of products has been referred to as “Clear and Simple Solutions”™ to car and motorcycle surface care, inside and outside.
And to underscore that commitment to excellence, the bottles are clear, the product colors are vivid----there is nothing to hide and instead everything to celebrate!
In retail displays, the vibrant colors of the labels and products just “pop off” the shelves to capture consumer attention and to stimulate purchases. Even the Buffalo Buck-It™ is a clear, uniquely shaped, stackable bucket with pop off lid that contains the entire line of Exterior-Interior products with the finest applicators, including 100% super soft cotton diapers named “Buffalo Diapers®.”
“Why the Buffalo?”
Buffalo Milke Automotive Polishing Products, Inc. is proud to be an all-American company with traditional, all-American pride and integrity in its business dealings. The products are manufactured in the USA…no imported barrels from foreign countries.
There is no finer symbol to represent that kind of corporate commitment than an
all-American symbol of power…the American buffalo. And the white buffalo is an even more sacred symbol that this company cherishes and plans to honor in a number of ways as the company continues to grow.
A powerful all-American symbol for powerful, all-American performance by the premium surface care products of Buffalo Milke Automotive…that says it all!
Serious About the Performance -- Fun with the Names
And speaking of products, Buffalo Milke Instant Spray Wax® has been joined by a complete family of Exterior-Interior Surface Care Products which each in its own right is innovative in performance and blessed with a humorous name.
Buffalo Bubbles™ is a super, long-lasting bubble bath for cars and trucks that is BOTH a wash and wax enhancer.
Buffalo Hide® restores and maintains leather, vinyl, plastic surfaces of dashboards, door panels, and vinyl bumpers.
Buffalo Bug-Melt™ is an “instant bug remover” that just melts all forms of bugs, including baked on grit!
Buffalo Attire™ is a premium, fast, and easy tire dressing that rejuvenates tires while maintaining maximum protection from the sun’s UV rays and elements. The look is NEW and no gloss! Just natural and new looking!
Buffalo Real Wheel™ is a grime kickin’ wheel cleaner. Brake dust, dirt and grease on wheels evaporate! Even neglected wheels sparkle like new!
MEET IN PERSON The Pickiest in the Business -- the LEGENDS -- Who Love Buffalo Milke®
Buffalo Phil’s goal in developing his full product line was to present his revolutionary products first to the custom car and custom motorcycle industry. If the designers and owners of such valuable, and even priceless cars, liked the premium performance of the Buffalo Milke Automotive product line, then everybody would love them! And they do!
Meet in person some of the Legends and Hall of Famers who created the traditions of SEMA with innovations and perseverance. Also meet in person the famous custom car designer, Darryl Starbird, who not only appeared in the last segment of TV’s Monster Garage with Jesse James but also just published an impressive 226 page book on his artistry and the custom car industry which he’ll be autographing. Additionally, Mr. Starbird is the curator of the National Hot Rod and Custom Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Afton, Oklahoma. Mr. Starbird’s famous custom, Cristina, will be in the booth to honor Joe Bailon’s development of Candy Apple Red paint.
And Joe Bailon’s famous Candy Apple Red, full custom Mercury built by him, “The Widow,” will also be on display at SEMA 2006, courtesy of Dan Weaver from Spokane, Washington.
Collect an autograph also from international customizer/designer John D’Agostino who has won 7 Hall of Fame Awards, as well as had his famous cars on MTV shows.

The 50th Anniversary of Candy Apple Red Paint…the stuff of songs and LEGENDS!
It is not every day that an automotive paint inspires the Beach Boys to write a song! Roughly remembered, it’s something like…Santa Claus was driving in a Candy Apple Red Sleigh….
Candy Apple Red paint was developed by Joe Bailon of Northern California, fifty years ago. An accident it was, as this incredibly talented car customizer experimented with pigment combinations.
A gift it was for the rest of the automotive and motorcycle industry (and for sleigh makers too!).
To honor “Candy Apple Red” Joe Bailon for his gift to the industry and the Legends that built SEMA to be what it is today, Buffalo Milke Automotive Polishing Products, Inc.® of Northern California is hosting a Celebration Honoring “Candy Apple Red” Joe Bailon on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 2 PM, Booth 12916, NORTH HALL.
Meet Legend Joe Bailon and hear him recount the moment of discovery of Candy Apple Red Paint. He also has stories to tell about the custom jobs for Hollywood’s “A” List like James Garner, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Sammy Davis Jr., etc. Also one of the most famous cars ever built was Miss Elegance which he did, winning multiple national awards.
To celebrate this historical moment, a multitude of other Legends will reminisce as well, acknowledging how Joe has been a “Johnny Appleseed” in his planting of inspirational and charitable contributions (apple seeds) throughout the world.
Darryl Starbird, the curator of the world renowned National Hot Rod and Custom Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Afton, Oklahoma and is, in his own right, the Legendary, highly respected custom car designer revered for his “bubble top” creations, says that “Joe Bailon is my hero.”
International customizer/designer John D’Agostino of Discovery Bay, California has been inspired to paint several of his cars Candy Apple Red, including the Starfire, a ’57 Cadillac which became one of the Mattel Hot Wheels in the Legends Series. Legend John D’Agostino recalls “As a kid, 7 years old, I was reading about Joe Bailon, and now I can proudly say that we have been friends for several decades.” In fact, when John’s career began, Joe Bailon gave John in 1985 the Candy Apple Red paint for his Royal Tahitian that was featured in many magazines, such as Street Rodder, and Rod & Custom.
Legend Blackie Gejeian, of the prestigious, invitational-only Fresno Autorama in Central California (which is celebrating its 48th Anniversary in 2007), recalls his friendship of over 60 years with Joe. He remembers when Joe got started in the 1940’s! Blackie reminisces “Candy Apple Red inspired kids and adults alike! Folks love it!”
The Monet of custom car painters and Legend, Art Himsl of Concord, California states
“I have seen many a car roll out of my shop over the years sporting that special Candy Apple Red sparkle!”
And Legendary Bones (Jim Noteboom in Southern California), who showed his extraordinary ’39, four door Woody, the “Zef-Fire” at SEMA recently, said that his love for Candy Apple Red goes way back to High School in 1955 and '56 when his buddy Larry Watson would get his Candy Apple Red paint from Joe Bailon.
And Gene Winfield, the world renowned customizer and Legend will reminisce as well.
And famous rides from our and Joe’s history will be there. Darryl Starbird is bringing his own custom from the National Hall of Fame and Museum, The Cristina. And one of Joe Bailon’s most famous Candy Apple Red customs which he built, The Widow, will be featured, courtesy of Dan Weaver of Spokane, Washington.
One man has made a huge contribution to SEMA, to the evolution of the industry for customizing rides, and inspired many a little boy…..
Celebrate the human side of this business. Come to the Buffalo Milke® Booth and say in person “Thank You, Joe! Thanks for making a difference!...a beautiful difference!”
